Poor customer service. Went in to have a wheel checked to see if it was out of balance. Walked into service where there were 2 guys sitting down on computer not working on bikes. Barely acknowledged I was there. Told them what I needed. I was told that I could not drop anything off for repair until the end of week on Saturday. If I wanted to make an appointment I would have to wait at least 10 days. After driving up there from Salem not the service I expected. I drove to a local bike shop in Salem, what a difference, it took him 5 minutes to put my wheel on truing stand to tell me my wheel was fine. They also didn't even charge me. I have been a performance member for several years and a loyal customer. I will not be renewing my membership and will be making my biking purchases elsewhere.
Always helpful and knowledgeable.
I recommend the Tualatin store for all your bike needs!
Satisfaction guarantee means nothing! Had a girls bike that had been in service for less than 4 months, a problem arose with the front derailer. Took it into the shop, first mechanic looked at it and said leave it, it needed a new cable. Picked up , wasn't fixed, brought it back, told I would need to now spend $60 plus the $25 already spent to fix it. Went home, looked through paperwork, saw the satisfaction guarantee. Took it back, spoke with arrogant Chad, a manager there. They wanted to fix it, 17 days later! I told them I lost confidence in the safety of the bike and wanted my money back, based on the guarantee and it breaking in less than 4 months of service. Then Chad proceeds to say, we will charge you $90 bucks to take it back, leaving me with not much towards a new bike. I told him NO WAY, the bike was in service for 4 months and didn't need a $90 tune to prep for resale. Chad continued with attitude and wanted to argue, even conceding that Schwinn wasn't a good brand, basically agreeing with my point of poor workmanship. And this attitude was in front of my 8 year old daughter. At one point, he said if he took the bike back, they would just throw it in the trash, in front of my daughter which made her start to cry. I told him I have spent nearly 1K in this store over the last year and will start telling everyone in LO not to shop there. He finally relented and gave me my money back after basically telling me never to step foot in the store again. I asked him if I was "banned" from the store and he said it was my choice, I told him with his shady mechanics and not standing behind their 365 day satisfaction guarantee, I will shop at a local store concerned about customer service, not their bottom line. Shame on you Chad and Performance Bikes. Buy local, put these national dealers out of business.
I got a new cassette, new chain, and had a snapped cable replaced the same day I dropped it off. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. My Trek madone feels brand new and I’m in love with the new cassette, it’s not even funny how spot on the shifting is for front and rear derailer. So stoked! Thanks PBS
They always have good prices, much better than their counterparts in lake oswego.
Great service, bicycle maintenance including building wheelsets here. Mainly road bicycles for sale last I saw there were no BMX bikes for sale there at all. Stop by to pump up your tires or to buy a granola bar or those weird "Shots" energy candy-food. They sell rain jackets, socks, and other bicycle clothing apparel (even clearance or "sale" items). There is a new concrete path that goes to the Nyberg Woods under the highway and prohibits cars or motorcycle, making it a convenient route for accessing Performance Bicycles by bicycle or inline rollerskates, but be careful as dog owners sometimes walk their dogs on that trail with long leashes and can cause you to slow your ride down some along route. Additionally the city of tualatin has plans of lengthening the city's pedestrian trail-ways (some of which would run along the river to join the new trail-way to Browns Ferry Park's trail-ways, but as of now the trail is rather short).
I bought my first bike here when they were in a different location.
I have had nothing but a good experience with the staff there.
